On July 3, 2016, Aida Smith, a 49-year-old African American woman, was tragically killed in a shooting at her home in Harvey, Illinois. The incident occurred early in the morning, around 3:30 a.m., when officers were called to the house located in the 14600 block of Winchester Avenue.
