On July 3, 2016, Aida Smith, a 49-year-old African American woman, was tragically killed in a shooting at her home in Harvey, Illinois. The incident occurred early in the morning, around 3:30 a.m., when officers were called to the house located in the 14600 block of Winchester Avenue. Aida Smith was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her live-in boyfriend, whose age was not specified, was also shot multiple times but survived the attack.
