Kentavia Blackful, a 12-year-old African American girl, tragically lost her life on September 23, 2019, in Harvey, Illinois. She was struck by a stray bullet while sitting at her family's computer, planning her birthday party. The bullet pierced the front window of her home, hitting her in the back of the head. Despite being rushed to Christ Hospital, she succumbed to her injuries the following day, which was her 12th birthday.
