On November 2, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in Dixmoor, Illinois, during a funeral procession. Rhomesha Turner, a 34-year-old woman from Calumet Park, was fatally shot while participating in the funeral procession for her brother, Chevel Carter. The procession had just departed from St. Mark's Church in nearby Harvey when the incident took place.
