Demarius Roseman, a 17-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on July 28, 2016, in the South Chicago neighborhood. The incident occurred around 10:40 p.m. when Demarius was walking in the 8000 block of South Manistee Avenue. According to reports, he was approached by an unknown assailant who opened fire, striking him multiple times. Demarius was pronounced dead at the scene, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
