LaShawn Carr, a 33-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on September 5, 2016, in Chicago, Illinois. He was fatally shot in the Englewood neighborhood, a community on the South Side of Chicago known for its high rates of gun violence. According to reports, LaShawn Carr was standing on the street when he was approached by an unknown assailant who opened fire, striking him multiple times. Despite efforts to save him, LaShawn succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
