Samuel Michael Rockett Jr., a 32-year-old African American man, was tragically killed on October 3, 2016, in the West Side Austin neighborhood of Chicago, IL. The incident occurred at approximately 3:34 a.m. in the 100 block of North Central Avenue. Rockett was shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:06 a.m. by the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He resided in the 100 block of Bellwood Avenue in Bellwood.
