Miguel Adan Ramirez, a 23 year old Hispanic male from Chicago, Illinois, was shot on the afternoon of October 5, 2016, while driving through the Chicago Lawn/Marquette Park area on the city's Southwest Side. Initial reports identified him as Miguel A. Ramirez, and public memorial records list his full name and age.
At about 2:53 p.m., he was eastbound in the 3200 block of West 64th Street when someone on the street opened fire, striking him in the head.
The vehicle careened into a
stop sign at 64th Place and Kedzie and flipped over in the aftermath of the shooting.
Witness accounts and police statements at the scene described shots fired from outside the vehicle as he drove.
First responders rushed Miguel to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He was pronounced dead at 6:50 p.m., and the Cook County medical examiner ruled his death a homicide caused by a gunshot wound to the head. He was identified as living on the 5200 block of South Campbell.
