On March 7, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in the Brighton Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, resulting in the death of 31-year-old David Villarreal-Zapata. The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of South Archer Avenue. According to police reports, two men, a 31-year-old and a 43-year-old, were driving southbound on Archer Avenue when a man inside a tan-colored SUV fired gunshots at their vehicle.
