On October 9, 2016, 22-year-old Kewon D. Vilella was fatally shot in Chicago, Illinois. He was discovered on a porch in the 3900 block of West Gladys Avenue with a gunshot wound to the chest. Earlier that day, Kewon had visited his daughter. His mother, Annette Johnson-Butler, described him as a vibrant young man full of life and energy.
