On February 5, 2014, Markeyo Carr, a 17-year-old from Chicago, was fatally shot in a parking lot near a McDonald's in the Rogers Park neighborhood. The shooting occurred in an area known for gang disputes, and Carr was one of four people injured when a masked gunman opened fire. He died at the scene, while others were injured but survived. According to reports, Carr was not believed to be involved in gang activities, and his death came as a tragic and unnecessary loss to his family and community ...
