Javon Trott, a 19-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on March 9, 2017, in Carbondale, Illinois. The incident occurred near the Eurma C. Hayes Center, where Trott was found with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale and undergoing surgery, he succumbed to his injuries. The community was left in shock and mourning over the loss of such a young life.
