Juan Willingham, a 15-year-old African American boy from Sauk Village, Illinois, was fatally shot on May 22, 2017, in Chicago Heights. The incident occurred in the 1600 block of Aberdeen Street around 3:13 p.m. Responding officers found Juan with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was immediately transported to St. James Health in Chicago Heights, where he was pronounced dead at 3:59 p.m. An autopsy confirmed that Juan died from his gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.
