Derrick Ricky Nabors Jr., a 31-year-old African American man, was tragically shot to death on August 26, 2017, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred near the Parkway Gardens public housing complex on the South Side of Chicago. According to reports, officers responded to a call of shots fired around 2:15 a.m. and found Derrick Nabors Jr. with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:26 a.m. by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
