On the evening of November 18, 2017, 48-year-old Todd Daniel Feldkamp, a white male from Effingham, Illinois, was found deceased in the backyard of a residence at 1660 N. Edward Street in Decatur. Responding to reports of gunshots shortly before 9 p.m., Decatur police officers discovered Feldkamp's body, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Nearby, they also found a 25-year-old male from Effingham with serious but non-life-threatening injuries; his identity was not disclosed at the time.
