Lesean King, a 47-year-old African American male, was tragically killed in a double shooting on December 10, 2017, in the Fernwood neighborhood of Chicago, IL. The incident occurred just after 4 a.m. in the 10600 block of South Perry. King, who resided in the neighborhood, was struck multiple times and was subsequently taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he succumbed to his injuries later that morning.
Another victim, a 62-year-old man, was also shot and taken to the same medical center for treatment of gunshot wounds to his abdomen and right leg.
The investigation led to the arrest of Brandon Bulley, a 32-year-old man from Bronzeville. Bulley was charged with felony counts of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. He was taken into custody on January 3, 2018, and was denied bail at his initial court appearance. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office scheduled his arraignment for February 13, 2018. The charges against Bulley stemmed from the evidence gathered by the Chicago Police Department, which linked him to the shooting that claimed King's life and injured the other man.
