On January 22, 2024, Maurice Clay, Jr., an 18-year-old from Chicago, Illinois, lost his life to gun violence. The incident occurred in the 9400 block of South Throop Street on the South Side of Chicago. According to police reports, the shooting happened just after 5 p.m. when at least one person approached two men near the sidewalk and fired shots.
