Jeremiaha Mikal DeNeal, an 18-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on January 11, 2018, in Danville, Illinois. Jeremiaha was found deceased inside a running vehicle around 8:20 AM on that day. An autopsy later determined that he had died from a single gunshot wound to his head. Jeremiaha was a resident of Danville and had attended Danville High School, where he was a member of the JROTC. He was known for his love of sports, music, dancing, and spending time with his family.
The investigation into Jeremiaha's death led to the arrest of twin brothers Aeron and Aerick Clark. Both 23 years old at the time, Aeron was listed with a Danville address, while Aerick was listed with a Las Vegas address. The United States Marshals Service apprehended the Clark brothers in Las Vegas in March 2022. They were subsequently extradited back to Vermilion County, Illinois, and charged with first-degree murder. The bond for each was set at ten percent of $5,000,000.
Jeremiaha's death left his family and community in mourning. His mother, Asia DeNeal, and his fiancée, Tori Warren, were particularly devastated. Jeremiaha had recently celebrated the birth of his son, and his family described him as a caring individual who always put others first. The family continues to seek justice and answers regarding his untimely death.
