Victor Calderon, a 26-year-old Hispanic male, was tragically shot and killed on May 6, 2018, in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood. Officers found him suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest and right leg on a sidewalk in the 2200 block of South Hoyne. Despite efforts to save him, Calderon succumbed to his injuries. The incident was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner, adding to the grim tally of homicides in Chicago for that year.
