Keonte A. Cook, a 19-year-old African American male from Joliet, Illinois, was tragically shot and killed in the early hours of May 11, 2018. The incident occurred in the 1400 block of North Center Street, a location known for its rough surroundings. Cook was pronounced dead at 2:58 a.m. after suffering a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The Will County Coroner's Office confirmed that his death was being treated as a homicide.
