Kenyate Sparks, a 29-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on August 5, 2018, in Chicago, Illinois. Sparks, a father of four, was celebrating a new job with his fiancée, Sakeem Bryd, near Springfield Avenue and Grenshaw Street when he was fatally shot in the neck around 3:30 a.m. The incident occurred during a violent weekend in Chicago, which saw 12 people killed and 63 others wounded.
