Shawnquez Edwards, a 29-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on November 25, 2018, in Rockford, Illinois. The incident occurred in the early hours near Eighth Street and Broadway, where a triple shooting took place. Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene, while another victim, Chiyara Nelson, also succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. A third individual was shot and survived but was left paralyzed.
