On the evening of March 4, 2025, Baltimore police were called to a residence in the 1000 block of McAleer Court, where they discovered a grim scene. Inside, 41-year-old Shakeira LaShae Cooper, a Black female, was found deceased from a gunshot wound. Alongside her was a 38-year-old man who had also been fatally shot. The discovery was made at approximately 8:19 p.m. by Central District officers who were responding to a report of a shooting.
