On July 11, 2021, Candace Acevedo, a 28-year-old woman, was found dead under an overpass at South Monroe and Russell Streets in Baltimore, Maryland. Southern District patrol officers responded to a call at approximately 5:29 p.m. and discovered her unresponsive body. Medics pronounced her dead at the scene, and her body was subsequently transported to the Medical Examiner's office for further examination. The cause of death was determined to be a shooting.
