Don Edward Passantino, a 32-year-old male from Oak Park, Illinois, was tragically shot to death on November 28, 2018, in the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago. According to the Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner's office, officers responded to a call of a person shot around 10 p.m. and found Passantino unresponsive on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his head in the 2800 block of West Melrose Street.
Witnesses reported that someone inside a silver car fired shots, and then another male exited the vehicle and fired several more shots. Passantino was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:43 p.m. An autopsy confirmed that he died of multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.
The investigation into Passantino's death was conducted by Area North detectives. However, there is no information available regarding any arrests, suspects, or litigations related to his murder.
