Elisa Corona Vargas, a 47-year-old Hispanic woman, was tragically shot and killed on February 23, 2019, in the Austin neighborhood on Chicago's West Side. The incident occurred early in the morning when officers responded to gunshots at around 12:25 a.m. They found Elisa lying on a sidewalk at the opening of an alley in the 5300 block of West Iowa Street.
