Cartez M. Brown, a 22-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on May 14, 2019, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the 3100 block of West Monroe Street in the Near West Side neighborhood. According to reports, Cartez was approached by an unknown assailant who opened fire, striking him multiple times. He was subsequently transported to Stroger Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
