Janari Andre Ricks, a 9-year-old African American boy, was tragically shot and killed on July 31, 2020, in Chicago, Illinois. Janari was playing outside with friends in the Cabrini Green neighborhood when he was struck by a bullet. The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. in the 900 block of North Cambridge Avenue.
