Michael Brinkman, 50, a white man from Omaha, was spending the early evening of December 23, 2016, at his southwest Omaha home when the doorbell rang. Two men in masks pushed inside. In the chaos that followed, Brinkman struggled at the doorway as his family stood nearby, and a single shot struck his chest.
