Markeese A. Fair, a 23-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on June 6, 2019, in East St. Louis, Illinois. The incident occurred near the intersection of Touchette Avenue and N. 24th Street. Markeese was shot and subsequently pronounced dead at Touchette Regional Hospital. Following a thorough investigation, two men were arrested and charged in
connection with the murder of Markeese A. Fair. Reginald Alexander and Stephen Moore III were both charged with first-degree murder. The charges were brought forth by the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office. Both suspects were held on $1 million bonds each, and if convicted, they face sentences ranging from 45 years to life imprisonment, with the requirement to serve 100 percent of their sentences.
