Alejandro Mendoza, a 17-year-old male from Joliet, IL, was tragically shot and killed on July 14, 2019. The incident occurred around 6:15 a.m. when officers responded to reports of shots fired. They found Alejandro Mendoza inside a vehicle near Elwood Avenue and Creed Street with a gunshot wound. He was initially transported to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox before being airlifted to Loyola Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
