Despite the efforts of law enforcement, no arrests have been made in connection with Floyd Jr.'s murder.
Less than a year later, Floyd Faint Sr., Floyd Jr.'s father, was also fatally shot.
Floyd Sr., a 47-year-old African American male, was killed on April 28, 2020, in his driveway in Joliet. He was shot multiple times in the 700 block of Francis Street, near Henderson Avenue. This tragic event marked the second father-son slaying in Joliet since 2019.
The investigation into Floyd Sr.'s murder remains unsolved. Joliet police have not made any arrests in connection with his death. The case has drawn significant attention due to the tragic loss of both father and son within a short period.
In addition to these homicides, the Joliet police conducted raids on two houses near Henderson Avenue, including Floyd Sr.'s residence, following another fatal shooting of a relative, Jeffery Faint, on November 1, 2022. However, these raids were not directly connected to Floyd Sr.'s unsolved homicide.
The deaths of Floyd Faint Jr. and Floyd Faint Sr. have left a lasting impact on their community, highlighting the ongoing challenges of addressing gun violence and ensuring justice for the victims and their families.
