Shaquille Barrow, a 20-year-old African American male, died on March 2, 2015, in Joliet, Illinois, following a fatal encounter with the police. The incident began when Joliet police were investigating a report of theft in the 100-block of Mississippi Avenue. The victim of the theft provided a description of the suspects, which led officers to Shaquille Barrow and another individual, Shawn Miller, 21, on Richards Street near 1st Avenue.
