Michael C. Brock, a 24-year-old African American male from Joliet, IL, was found dead on January 10, 2015, in an alley on South Ottawa Street. Initially, his death was investigated as a hit-and-run incident. However, further investigation revealed that Brock had been shot once before being struck by a car. This discovery shifted the case from a tragic accident to a homicide investigation.
