On July 26, 2019, Desmond Curry, a 28-year-old African American male, was fatally shot in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around midnight in the 700 block of North Waller Avenue, located in the Austin neighborhood on the city's West Side. Desmond was standing near a vehicle when he was approached and shot by an unknown assailant. He sustained critical injuries and was transported to Stroger Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
