Antwan Hawthorne, a 33-year-old African American male, was fatally shot during a home invasion on December 18, 2019, in Harvey, Illinois. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in his apartment located in the 14600 block of Loomis Avenue. According to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, Hawthorne was shot multiple times after confronting a gunman who had entered his home. Despite being rushed to Ingalls Memorial Hospital, he was pronounced dead less than half an hour later.

Authorities have been actively investigating the case, seeking information on how the suspect gained access to the apartment.
