Lashawn Minniefield, a 28-year-old man from Little Village, Chicago, was fatally shot on May 16, 2020, in the West Garfield Park neighborhood. He was sitting in a parked vehicle in the 4400 block of West Adams Street when someone approached and fired shots, hitting him in the chest. Minniefield was pronounced dead at the scene. His death was ruled a homicide by the Cook County medical examiner's office.
