Deonte Fleming, a 23-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on May 29, 2020, in Chicago, Illinois. Deonte, affectionately known as "Tay," was born on September 25, 1996, and was the first of twins. He was raised by his aunt, Carol Cooper, in a loving and caring home. Deonte had a deep love for his family, especially his twin brother, Deandre. He was known for his compassionate and fun-loving nature, and he was very protective of his family.
Deonte attended Carver Military School and had a passion for basketball, often wearing the jersey number 25.
On the evening of May 29, 2020, Deonte Fleming was fatally shot in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. He was on the sidewalk in the 1200 block of West 70th Street when someone in a vehicle shot him in the chest and side. Deonte was pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center at 7:37 p.m. An autopsy confirmed that he died of multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with Deonte Fleming's murder. The investigation is ongoing, and Area One detectives are actively working on the case. The lack of suspects and arrests has left Deonte's family and friends seeking justice for his untimely death.
