Christopher Weatherspoon, a 28-year-old African American male, was tragically shot to death on June 16, 2020, in Bellwood, Illinois. The incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. in the 400 block of 24th Avenue. Officers responding to the scene found Weatherspoon with multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead. The Cook County medical examiner's office later ruled his death a homicide.
