Derek Middleton, a 31-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on October 1, 2020, in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, IL. According to reports, Derek was walking around 2:10 a.m. in the 1300 block of West 73rd Street when an unknown individual approached him holding a handgun with a green laser. The assailant opened fire, striking Derek in the chest. He was immediately taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
