Donnell Gardner Jr., a 30-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on October 29, 2020, in Danville, Illinois. The incident occurred at the Vermilion Garden Apartments on North Bowman Avenue. On the day of the shooting, officers were called to the public housing complex at 11:37 a.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered two men had been injured in the shooting.
