Djavan Dye, a 30-year-old African American man from Danville, Illinois, tragically lost his life on June 6, 2021. Djavan, also known as "Saudi," was pronounced dead at 6:13 p.m. at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana after being transferred from OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville. The incident occurred early Sunday morning when police responded to reports of a shooting at a house party on North Beard and East Williams streets.
