Dwayne Malette, a 57-year-old man from Roseland, Chicago, was fatally shot on December 25, 2020, in the Grand Crossing neighborhood. Malette was on the sidewalk around 2:30 p.m. in the 7300 block of South Kenwood Avenue when someone fired shots, striking him in the side, abdomen, and head. He was immediately taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries nearly nine hours later.
