Jose Francisco Sanchez-Guerrero, a 21-year-old male from Glenview, Illinois, was tragically killed on March 12, 2021, in Evanston, Illinois. He was one of the victims of a triple shooting that occurred on the front porch of a home in the 1800 block of Hovland Court. The incident also claimed the life of 20-year-old Demarcus Cokley from Des Plaines and left an 18-year-old Evanston man injured.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that both Sanchez-Guerrero and Cokley died
from multiple gunshot wounds. The shooting took place around 11:45 a.m. when a male suspect approached the house and opened fire on the three men before fleeing north across Emerson Street.
The Evanston Police Department, along with detectives from the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force, launched an investigation into the incident.
