David Kirkwood, a 33-year-old man from Chicago, IL, was fatally shot on July 6, 2018, in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. The incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. when Kirkwood was standing on a curb in the 3800 block of West Monroe Street. He was approached by an individual wearing a mask and black clothing, who fired six shots, striking Kirkwood in the chest, thigh, and right arm.
