Death by Force

Jermayne Darden, a 20-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on March 22, 2021, in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. The incident occurred around 8:48 p.m. in the 7900 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue. Jermayne was standing outside with two other individuals when someone opened fire. He was shot in the head and was immediately taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
