On January 9, 2025, Brenda Sharon Sorace, a 76-year-old white woman, was found fatally shot in her home on Dundee Court in the Blackman community of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Her husband, 87-year-old John Sorace, was arrested and charged with reckless homicide in connection with her death. John Sorace, a former assistant police chief with the Metro Nashville Police Department, is being held on a $700,000 bond at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
