Eddie Thigpen, a 14-year-old African American boy, was tragically shot and killed on May 8, 2021, in the East Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of South Springfield Avenue and Madison Street.
