Deonte Fontaine Brewer, a 29-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on June 29, 2021, in Chicago, IL. Brewer was fatally shot in the forehead while standing inside a building in the Marquette Park neighborhood. The incident occurred after an illegal eviction of a family from the building where Brewer's uncle was the landlord. The eviction, which was carried out without proper legal procedures, led to a confrontation that ultimately resulted in Brewer's death.
