Anthony Hayes, a 27-year-old postal worker, was fatally shot on March 24, 2015, in the East Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. On the morning of his death, Hayes had just entered his car, a blue Dodge Charger, and was preparing to head to work for his shift at the U.S. Postal Service. The incident took place early in the day, as he was leaving his family home. Hayes was targeted in his car and shot multiple times, leading to his death before he could begin his regular shift.
