Michael Mekenzie, a 55-year-old African American man, was tragically killed on August 30, 2021, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning at his residence in the South Shore neighborhood. According to reports, Michael Mekenzie responded to loud knocking at his door around 1:50 a.m. Upon opening the door, he was confronted by a gunman who forced his way into the home.
